Usn Collar
Do you keep old clothes or throw them out?
Brown Leather Jacket
Today I pull out from closet
supple brown leather jacket
and place it upon my frame
It amazes me what a small man
he was, I remember him so huge
he fit craft's small cockpit well
nape of my neck is warmed by faux
fur collar that must've touched his
silk flying scarf kept underneath
the label inside reads this way:
Bureau of Aeronautics USN
Jacket, Flying, Man's, Type G-1
My father wore this jacket in 1946
when he was just 30 years old
today, at 58, this daughter remembers him well.
