lol, I just saw the year on the vid and it happened 2 years before I was born. lol, that is probably why I dont remember it.
things like that are actually more common than people realise, every year a considerable number of small ships are sunk or damaged in accidental collisions with subs around the world, the most common cause of a sinking is a trawler dragging fishing nets that actually snares a submerged sub, needless to say unless the trawler crew can cut their nets in a few seconds the sub drags the ship down (usually the sub doesn't even notice it has hit a fishing net until the propellers get fouled, by then it is too late.)
there have been a few incidents were a sub has surfaced right under a ship, thankfully this is very rare.
