Last One
After I catch a catfish, how may I prepare it to eat. The last one smelt and tasted bad.?
My family has built a fish pond and we have many large catfish to catch and eat. How do we prepare the fish for eating? The last one tasted and smelt pretty bad. I have heard the fillet must be soaked in milk, another said to purge the fish. What is that? Should I transfer the live fish to clean it before preparation?
FRIED CAT FISH
Cat fish fillets
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
2/3 c. yellow corn meal
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
Spread fillets with thin coat of mustard. Combine other ingredients; add fillets, coating well. Fry in skillet of hot oil (375 degrees) for 4-5 minutes. Turn; repeat.
If using deep fryer, add limited number of fillets
