World expo Shanghai 2010 that is being touted as the next biggest event to hit the world in 2010 is surely a thing to talk about. I mean, an event of such stature has never been hosted on such a large scale by a developing country before. Spread over an area of 5.28 square kilometers on both the sides of Huangpo River near the Nanpu bridge-Lupu bridge in the centre of Shanghai, world expo Shanghai 2010 will be an event to watch out for. The expectancy of visitors has crossed the 70 million mark and the number of expected participants are 200 with 194 already confirmed. Amongst the front runners with the maximum number of participating countries is the continent Africa with 48 seats under its belt. Following close by is Asia with 42 seats and Europe with 41, America and Oceania bringing the rear with 22 and 14 seats respectively.
World expo Shanghai 2010 will take place from May 12 to October 31, 2010 which is also known as the festival, Halloween. The event will be hosted in the main building, “Axis” which is under construction right now. It will be big enough to hold all the expected participants and tourists in it. This event will bring a new side of the world wherein, the stress would be on harmony and mutual understanding between the nations for the cultural and technological development of the globe as a whole.
